Closer look at Google Handwrite
Overview
All you have to do is place your finger on the Google home page and use your finger to write. Google will use its handwriting technology to convert the handwriting to text. Google recognizes the letter you’re tracing out and immediately adds it to the search bar and displays your results.
Within 4 months I designed the entire Google Handwrite UI for mobile and tablet devices. I delivered high fidelity mocks, flow maps, and style guides for all devices. Handwrite launched in July 2012 and receives an average of one million queries per day, and peaked at 7,126,786 queries per day.
I then collaborated with the GSA (Google Search app) team to integrate Handwrite, which launched just 4 months later.
